About the Mercedes-Benz E-Class W123

The 123 Series was introduced in late 1975 to replace the Mercedes-Benz W114 and W115. Its design adopted features from the W116 S-Class and incorporated a reinforced safety structure, a steering column designed to reduce injury in an impact and a general evolution of the chassis.

The family included W123 saloons, C123 coupés, S123 estates and long-wheelbase V123 versions, together with chassis intended for specialist bodies. The engine range covered petrol and diesel alternatives, from economy-focused versions to six-cylinder models and turbodiesel variants.

The estate models identified by the letter T expanded the series’ versatility through an integrated load compartment and specific solutions for the rear axle and interior. The variety of bodies, engines and production stages makes it important to select documentation appropriate to the vehicle’s exact configuration.
