About the Mercedes-Benz CL-Class C215

Introduced in 1999, the Mercedes-Benz CL C215 was the large luxury coupe technically derived from the W220 S-Class. Its pillarless two-door body combined streamlined styling with accommodation for four occupants and a high level of comfort and technology.

One of its defining features was the ABC active suspension, designed to reduce body movement and improve handling. The range included V8 and V12 engines in versions such as the CL 500 and CL 600, together with the high-performance CL 55 AMG and CL 65 AMG models.

The 2002 model revision introduced changes to the design, equipment, electronic systems and several powertrains. Differences between naturally aspirated and supercharged versions, as well as between production stages, make it important to identify the model and year before selecting its manual.
