About the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter W901-905

Introduced in 1995 as the successor to the Mercedes-Benz T1 transporters, the first-generation Sprinter established a modular commercial-vehicle range for a wide variety of professional applications. Its name became associated with one of the brand's best-known van families.

The W901 to W905 series covered different weight categories, wheelbases and configurations including panel vans, crew or passenger vehicles, minibuses and chassis cabs. The range used rear-wheel drive and offered diesel and petrol engines, manual and automatic transmissions and several body lengths and roof heights.

The 2000 model revision updated the front design, driving compartment, electronic systems and part of the engine range, introducing new CDI versions with common-rail injection. The wide variety of configurations makes it necessary to check the series code, engine and year before selecting documentation.
