About the Mercedes-Benz 190 SL R121

The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL was produced from 1955 to 1963 as a two-seat roadster with a soft top and an optional detachable hardtop. Its styling was clearly connected to the image of the 300 SL, although its purpose was different: an elegant touring sports car, more accessible, comfortable and suitable for regular use.

Identified by the R121 body code, the 190 SL used the Mercedes-Benz M121 1.9-liter four-cylinder engine and technical solutions related to the Ponton sedans. For servicing, adjustment and restoration work, dedicated documentation is especially useful because the model combines 190 SL-specific details with components shared with other classic Mercedes-Benz vehicles of the period.
