About the Mercedes-Benz E-Class W114

The Mercedes-Benz W114 was a passenger car produced as part of the generation known as /8 or Strich Acht. It was offered mainly as a sedan and coupé, and represented an important evolution from the brand’s previous mid-size models.

One of its most relevant features was the use of a completely new chassis, combined with an independent rear suspension with diagonal swing axle and a front suspension with steering knuckles. This technical layout marked a key stage in the development of mid-size Mercedes-Benz vehicles before later generations adopted more advanced solutions such as the multi-link rear suspension.

Within the /8 family, the W114 code identifies the gasoline six-cylinder versions, while the W115 was mainly associated with four-cylinder and diesel variants.
